In Mandarin in G1 we are learning to:
1. Say the body parts in Mandarin
2. Sing songs about body parts
3. Write basic Chinese characters of body parts: 头,耳,口,手
Learning the body parts in Mandarin is not too difficult. There are two ways to say “mouth”in Mandarin. The first one, 嘴巴 zuǐ ba is usually used in speaking while the second one, 口kǒu is an old form and is mainly found in written language. In details, the words of body parts are:
身体 shēn tǐ (body)
脸 liǎn (face)
头 tóu (head)
头发 tóu fa (hair)
眼睛 yǎn jing (eye)
鼻子 bí zi (nose)
耳朵 ěr duo (ear)
嘴巴 zuǐ ba (mouth)
口 kǒu (mouth)
手 shǒu (hand)
脚 jiǎo (foot)
舌头 shé tou (tongue)
I have made a set of cards on Quizlet (quizlet.com or download the app for phone or ipad) to help your child practice learning the body parts.
Search for laoshilinda (all one word lower case) and then choose body.
The video here explains how to use Quizlet https://vimeo.com/113241642
You do not need to know any Mandarin yourself to use any of these resources.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
