In Mandarin in G1 we are learning to:
1. Say the five senses in Mandarin
2. Ask and answer questions about senses
Learning the senses in Mandarin is not too difficult. As you may have found, the main verb of senses is repeated in daily conversation. For example, 听tīng (listen) is usually used in the phase听一听tīng yì tīng (listen). In details, the words of senses are:
感官 gǎn guān (senses)
听一听 tīng yì tīng (listen)
看一看 kàn yí kàn (look)
闻一闻 wén yí wén (smell)
摸一摸 mō yì mō (touch)
尝一尝 cháng yì cháng (taste)
这是什么? Zhè shì shén me? (What is this?)
我不知道。 Wǒ bù zhī dao. (I don't know.)
请看这里。 Qǐng kàn zhè li. (Please look here.)
请看着我。 Qǐng kàn zhe wǒ. (Please look at me.)
I have made a set of cards on Quizlet (quizlet.com or download the app for phone or ipad) to help your child practice learning the senses.
Search for laoshilinda (all one word lower case) and then choose senses.
The video here explains how to use Quizlet https://vimeo.com/113241642
You do not need to know any Mandarin yourself to use any of these resources.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
