Our primary students have been enthusiastic participated in the Chinese New Year celebration. Kindergarten children made a tiger head for the year of the tiger. G1, G2 and G3 students made a Chinese New Year card for their families. G4 students wrote the spring couplets. G5 students did Chinese painting for the year of the tiger. It's the Chinese New Year season. In this unit, our students will explore the CNY celebration and Chinese culture. Our G1 and G2 students made a poster about the traditional CNY celebration. They are working on labelling all pictures.

G5 students enjoyed the reading aloud activity in Mandarin. They practised giving a meaning feedback to their friends by writing their feedback into a note.

Unit 2 Week 2 Blog
Kindergarten children made a book about shapes by using pictures they have made. We have started to read every's book in the Mandarin lesson.
To support students home-language, G3 students taught whole class how to say date in their language.
G3-G5 students have started dictation and 'reading and typing program' from this week. Students will practise the spelling words at school. And students are encouraged to practise spelling words at home as well.
Unit 2 Week 1 Blog
We have started our unit this week. In unit 2, Students will develop their language skills by using Mandarin to interact with communities. Students shared their understanding of the communities and learned the name of the places around our community.
Our KG children learned the name of the shapes. They have been creative by making objects using shapes after I shared one storybook. We are going to use their products to make a new book.
G1 and G2 students explored the water cycle in Mandarin.

Our students have made posters about the Mid-Autumn Festival. Two students from G5 introduced all those posters to all students in the celebration.

G5 students have got a wonderful opportunity to practise their research skills and communication skills by creating the questions list and interviewing their classmates.

In G1 and K class, we have a discussion about well-being. Children have made a poster to share their understanding of "jian kang 健康" and "bu jiankang 不健康"。We listened a song "jian kang ge 健康歌" and shared a story "xiao hou zi xue gui le 小猴子学乖了。" Here are links for the song and the story.
