I was happy to hear our students were able to articulate what they learned. Student Led Conference is a great chance to celebrate students' learning.
Mandarin teachers will be in MPR for our Student Led Conference on April 21. We look forward to seeing you and your family. It is a great opportunity to celebrate students hard work.
There will be four stations for Ms. YanPing's students. 1 Portfolio (which you can find the Mandarin pages in their homeroom portfolio) 2 Mandarin folder (where we collect all the work students have done) 3 Read a book (either students self-made illustrated book or our reading resource) 4 A Mandarin game (which you can experience it is FUN to learn Mandarin) Students were preparing our unit summative task.
Firstly we formed 4 groups to make our treasure box ( what we need for our summative task, vocabulary, phrases and sentences). Some students started to draft their menu and script. Stay tuned, we will post their role-play Video clip soon. Mandarin teachers work collaboratively with G3 homeroom teachers on how we express ourselves unit. Students had a chance to see and experience how Chinese opera artists to express their emotions, moves and characters. In Mandarin classes teachers follow up on the trip and students will make their opera faces, and also watch a opera show video clip about Monkey King.
Here is the set for students to review the main points for the opera faces in Mandarin. http://quizlet.com/_194lld |
